Easily the most prolific of the edible mushrooms in our yard, Macrolepiota rachodes or the shaggy parasol.
I’m pretty sure this is Agaricus augustus – another classic found in the yard.
Coprinus comatus, the shaggy ink cap, lawyer’s wig, or shaggy mane, lasts barely a day.
We enjoyed our last trip to the Bloedel Reserve enough to become members and membership has its privileges – an annual mushroom walk.
